BUILDING MOMENTUM CONFERENCE 2017

Building Momentum, Raising the Profile of Women in Sport.

The Female Sports forum will host a Building Momentum Conference on Friday 3rd November at Titanic Belfast from 9.30am – 3.30pm. The Conference will focus on event legacy and raising the profile of female sport in Northern Ireland and aims to build on the momentum generated from hosting two major events this summer and continue the delivery of the Active Fit and Sporty Strategy. Further information and booking details for the Conference will be announced soon.

Sport Northern Ireland and the Department for Communities have marked the end of a landmark summer of female sport by announcing further investment. The summer of 2017 saw Northern Ireland play host to both the Women’s Rugby World Cup and UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championships.

The newly announced investment, to be delivered as part of the ‘Active Fit and Sporty’ project, is aimed at building on the legacy of both events, and ensuring that all new and returning participants are inspired, welcomed and enthused about staying active.

‘Active Fit and Sporty’ originally launched in 2016, and to date has provided over 3,000 women across Northern Ireland the chance to take part in a range of grassroots sports initiatives. This latest investment into the project will see the Department for Communities and Sport Northern Ireland collaborate with the Irish Football Association Foundation, Ulster Rugby, Ulster GAA and Female Sports Forum in promoting female sport and physical activity.
