Disability Sport NI – FitHer Programmes & My Sport, My Story Workshops
The FitHer Programme
Free activity sessions for females!
A series of weekly sessions for women with sight loss, women with a physical disability and women who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. These sessions will offer opportunities to try a range of activities and will be based in the following areas:
Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council
Tuesdays 11am-12pm in Tandragee Recreation Centre
Wednesdays 5-6pm in Craigavon Leisure Centre
Thursdays 11am-12pm in Gilford Community Centre
Belfast
Mondays 5pm-6pm in Girdwood Community Hub
Mondays 3-4pm in Fleming Fulton School
Fridays 11am-12pm in Belvoir Activity Centre
Derry City and Strabane District Council
Mondays 11am-12pm in Brook Park Leisure Centre
Wednesdays 11am-12pm in Templemore Sports Centre

My Sport, My Story Workshops
Disability Sport Ni will deliver workshops to a class or year group within eleven secondary schools to highlight how local female sports people have overcome barriers to become successful in sport.
Each workshop will explore why we take part in sport and physical activity, barriers and solutions to participation for females, as well as trying out some disability sports. They will highlight how local females with a disability overcame barriers to become involved in sport and physical activity. A key speaker will also be available to deliver at each workshop and share their story. The speaker may include Kelly Gallagher (Skiing) or Claire Taggart (Boccia).
